Crock Pot Swamp Cabbage



1 lb. ground beef
1/4 lb. ground breakfast sausage
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. smoked paprika
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
1 med. head cabbage, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
1 large carrot, shredded
1 rib celery, diced
14.5 oz. can fire roasted tomatoes, with juice
1 T. apple cider vinegar
2 T. butter
shredded cheddar cheese for serving





Brown the ground beef and sausage in a skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain well and add the garlic and next 6 ingredients. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Transfer to your crock pot and add the remaining ingredients, minus the cheese. Cover and cook on low for 7 hours or high for 5. Serve with shredded cheese.
