Friends served this grilled trout at a dinner party we attended in 1963, and then shared the recipe with me. It continues to be my husbands favorite trout recipe after all these years.
1/2 c soy sauce
1/2 c dry sherry
1/4 c vegetable oil
1 Tbsp lime or lemon juice
1 clove garlic, minced
4 trout, dressed
1. Prepare marinade by combining first 5 ingredients.
2. Pour marinade over trout in a shallow dish. Cover dish with plastic wrap, and place in refrigerator for 1 hour, turning once.
3. Remove trout from marinade and grill over medium-hot coals until done (10 to 15 minutes).
