Warm Ya up Chili

Cook time: 30 Min  Serves: many




3 lb ground chuck…any ground meat will do, i just skim the fat off
3 Tbsp minced garlic
1/4 c chili powder
1/2 tsp oregeno
2 tsp onion powder
2 Tbsp paprika
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp salt…more if you like
1 tsp black pepper
15 oz can crushed tomatoes
15 oz can tomato sauce
15 oz red wine (any..can replace with water if not avail)
1 c water
2 Tbsp masa
2 Tbsp sugar





1. In a large stock pot brown ground meat.
2. When the meat is cooking add seasonings. When it is all good and brown add tomato sauce and wine then water. Let cook down for a few minutes. Add crushed tomatoes.
3. Bring up to a slow bubble for about 15 minutes..then add masa to thicken. Then add sugar to cut acid. Bring up to a slow bubble for 10 mins or so. Cover for 15 minutes and allow spices to mingle.
4. Serve by itself or with crackers, cornbread or over your favortie item.
